Water Billing Notice
Regular water billing for monthly and for Elmira customers will be processed as usual with a due date of December 19, 2024.
Customers who receive their bill by mail can call or attend the office to inquiry about the amount due.
Pre-authorized payments will be withdrawn on December 19, 2024.
Woolwich, ON – The Township of Woolwich is set to begin retrofitting existing water meters to a new Smart Radio. This new Smart Radio will enable the Township to remotely read water meters which will eliminate the need to physically attend the property of water customers. This program will only affect properties in Woolwich who are being supplied water from the Township. Over the next six months KTI will be working in West Montrose, Maryhill. Heidelberg, Conestogo, St. Jacobs and Breslau.
Woolwich, ON – To continue supporting businesses impacted by the ongoing pandemic, Council for the Township of Woolwich has approved outdoor patio seating again this summer on Mill Street, in Elmira. A portion of the patio will be available for members of the public to use at their leisure. The public community seating area will offer picnic tables, umbrellas and chairs and will be filled with greenery, such as trees and flowers.
Woolwich, ON – By restoring a piece of the ecosystem which existed before human intervention, the NEW Elmira Nature Reserve will expand public access to natural areas and restore damaged habitat. Woolwich Township Council has approved a plan by The Township of Woolwich Environmental Enhancement Committee (TWEEC) and Trees for Woolwich (T4W) to permanently set aside approximately 76 acres (30 hectares) of township land for public enjoyment and the preservation of native ecosystems.
A Snow Event is in effect for the Township of Woolwich beginning tonight at 12:00am, Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 and will remain in effect for 24 hours unless extended or cancelled.
Elmira Drain #1 was constructed in 1909 to provide drainage to a portion of Elmira and farm properties in Woolwich, Wellesley and Mapleton Townships. A map of the project is below. Under the Drainage Act, the Township is required to maintain the drain and charge costs to benefiting property owners. Woolwich Township has led maintenance projects in 1955, 1971 and 1984.
