The Township of Woolwich is beginning to undergo an evaluation of the Outdoor Recreation Amenities. The goal is to create a strategy in which both community and council members begin to look at the aspects of developing, maintaining, replacing, and consolidating outdoor recreation amenities to meet communities needs in a cost efficient and sustainable manner. Woolwich, ON – Today, the Downtown Elmira BIA (“BIA”) and the Township of Woolwich are happy to announce that the Elmira Art Exhibit (“EAE”) is open for the public to enjoy! This outdoor art project aims to positively impact both the arts and culture industry and local business community by showcasing ten pieces of public art to the downtown.

Woolwich, ON – Woolwich Township would like to provide an update following the additional discussion of the A Better Tent City (ABTC) proposal at Council on the evening of Tuesday, June 8^th, 2021.

Waterloo Region – The Government of Ontario has announced it will move the province into Step One of its Roadmap to Reopen at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Woolwich, ON – On June 1^st, Woolwich Council endorsed the TransformWR strategy, as the community climate change mitigation strategy for the Township of Woolwich. The TransformWR strategy identifies 78 actions to reduce our local greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80% by the year 2050.

Garlic Mustard is an invasive plant to be on the look-out for this spring in Woolwich. It is a non-native plant that often outcompetes our native plant life.  Manual removal methods include: cutting plants before they set seed or pulling the plants and discarding to waste -- not compost to avoid seed spreading.  Visit Ontario Invasive Plants Council website for information about Garlic Mustard and methods to control it.
