Woolwich Township to Celebrate Accomplished NHL and Canadian Team Alumni with Banner Raising Ceremony

Woolwich, ON – On September 22nd, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., the Woolwich community is invited to attend a heartfelt ceremony to honour nine of its most distinguished members by raising an NHL Alumni Banner at the Woolwich Memorial Centre (Dan Snyder Arena). The event will celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of retired players whose journeys from our hometown to National and International recognition serve as an inspiration to all.

NHL Alumni Honourees:

  • Cam Stewart
  • Mark Vines
  • Dennis Wideman
  • Jamie Wright

We will also recognize our current NHL members, Garrett Rank and Morgan MacPhee, and upon their retirement, will raise a banner commemorating their career accomplishments.

The greatness doesn’t stop there. Woolwich Township has a rich history filled with community members who have reached international heights in their careers. We will raise two banners recognizing our Team Canada members and Olympic and Paralympic Team members.

These Alumni Banners symbolize not only personal success but also the strong support and encouragement from the Woolwich community. Community leaders, family, and friends gathered to celebrate this great milestone.
