Woolwich Township Municipal Election Nominations Now Available

Woolwich, ON – Attention anyone interested in running for office in the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections! Woolwich Township is happy announce that information packages are now available for anyone interested in running for office. Information packages have all the forms you need to run for office and lots of helpful information. Packages can be picked up at the Township Office or you can view more information on our website at www.woolwich.ca/elections

Eligible candidates must be eligible to vote in the municipality. There are additional rules for municipal employees, judges, Members of Parliament (MP), Members of Provincial Parliament (MPP), Senators, and inmates.

To file a nomination, you will need:

1.  An appointment with Clerks staff, please contact election@woolwich.ca or 519 669 6010
2.  A nomination package (available in advance or when you file)
3.  “Endorsement of Nomination” Form 2:

• endorsed by 25 voters eligible to vote for the office before you file
• Available in the nomination package or online

4.  The nomination filing fee:

• $200.00 for Mayor, or
• $100 for all other offices

5.  Proof of identity, residence and citizenship

Woolwich Township will be accepting nominations for Mayor, Councillor and the English Public School Board. The Region of Waterloo Municipal Office will accept nominations for Regional Chair. Please see our website or contact us to learn more about nominations for other offices.
