Township of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich, plan 2nd annual 10-day dining event in the Region’s Countryside September 23 – October 3

Taste the Countryside

North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich, ON – After a successful event in 2020, the popular dining event will return again this fall!

#TastetheCountryside is a 10-day dining event in the Region of Waterloo’s countryside, promoting delicious local menus that incorporate local produce!  The event has been coordinated by the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich, along with Explore Waterloo Region and Wellington-Waterloo Community Futures.

From September 23rd to October 3rd, 2021, participating food establishments will offer a $15 or $35 Prix Fixe tasting menu for food lovers from near and far to enjoy!

This year's #TastetheCountryside event will focus on supporting "local" even more than last! The pandemic has brought forward hardships for all in the tourism industry and beyond.  All #TastetheCountryside Prix Fixe menus will include at least 3 ingredients from local growers and/or producers.

“We are so excited for this popular dining event to return!  The Region’s countryside has an incredible bounty to offer, and our local food businesses can’t wait to serve you!” – Jenna Morris, Economic Development and Tourism Officer, Township of Woolwich.

As part of the event, locals are encouraged to dine their way through the countryside for a chance to win prizes.  Guests can enter a ballot each time they enjoy a #TastetheCountryside meal.  The more they dine, the more chances they have to win!

Make sure to save the dates! Come on out, and let’s get tasting!
