Provincial Plan to Safely Reopen Waterloo Region - May 21, 2021

Waterloo Region – The Province of Ontario has announced their roadmap to reopen, a plan based on the province-wide vaccination rate and improvements in key public health and health care indicators.

The three-step plan provides an opportunity to safely and cautiously reopen Waterloo Region and the province.

“We cannot let up now and risk erasing our gains. Continuing to practice our public health precautions is critical this long weekend,” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health. “Please continue to limit your mobility and avoid close contact with those outside of your household, so we can have a better summer for all.”

As many restrictions remain in place, this may present hardships for our community.
Residents are reminded to be mindful of feelings of isolation. If you or someone you know needs help, remember that local mental health support is available.

Local, professional mental health support is available from Here 24/7 at 1-844-437-3247.

For more information on the reopening of Waterloo Region and the province, see the Province of Ontario’s roadmap to reopen.
