Ontario temporarily moving to modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen

Waterloo Region – In response to an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, the government of Ontario is moving the province to a modified version of Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 12:01 a.m. for at least 21 days (until January 26, 2022), subject to trends in public health and health system indicators.

Individual municipalities will provide updates on service changes, please check their websites for more details.

“We continue to see the impact of the Omicron variant here in Waterloo Region and across the Province of Ontario,” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Waterloo. “We will overcome this wave of COVID-19, like we have done before, and to do so we must continue to work together to protect our community and our health system.”
