📢 NOTICE: Water Valve Repairs & Temporary Road Closures – April 23 & 24, 2025

The Township of Woolwich will be completing essential water valve repairs on Wednesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 24, 2025. These upgrades are necessary to maintain the safety and reliability of the municipal water system.

Please see below for details on each scheduled repair:

🔧 Wednesday, April 23, 2025

Time: 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. (approx.)

Location: Queen St, Elmira (First St. E to University Ave E) 

• Water Shut Off: Water service will be interrupted for up to two (2) hours during this time.

• Road Closure: The road will be closed. Local traffic and emergency traffic will be allowed.

• What You Need to Do:

  • Ensure you have enough potable water stored before 6:30 A.M.

  • After service is restored, your water may have some loose particles because of the watermain being disturbed. Please run your cold water (preferably an outside tap or the tap closest to the water meter) for a short period of time until water runs clear.

🔧 Thursday, April 24, 2025

Time: 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. (approx.)
Location: Intersection of Wyatt Street & Centre Street, Elmira

• Water Shut Off: Temporary water service disruption for up to two (2) hours.

• Road Closure: Full closure at the intersection in all four directions. Local, emergency, and transportation services will be allowed.

• What You Need to Do:

  • Ensure you have enough potable water stored before 6:30 A.M.

  • After service is restored, your water may have some loose particles because of the watermain being disturbed. Please run your cold water (preferably an outside tap or the tap closest to the water meter) for a short period of time until water runs clear.

• Heavy equipment and workers will be onsite. Please use caution when travelling in the area.

• Obey all posted signage and instructions from traffic control personnel.
