Compliments and Complaints

A compliment is an expression of satisfaction related to a program, service, facility, or staff member of the Township of Woolwich. A complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction. Complaints may relate to the actions of an individual or a policy, process, or procedure.  A complaint may be received verbally, by phone, by email, or in writing.  Anonymous complaints will not be addressed.

This Complaint and Compliment form should not be used for the following:

  • A request for service made on behalf of a citizen for a specific service, or to notify the municipality that a scheduled service was not provided on time. (Examples of a Request for Service: reporting a burnt out street light, snow removal, trail system, tree trimming, reporting a by-law violation, etc.) *
  • A by-law complaint or inquiry regarding by-laws or possible by-law violations *
  • A comment, feedback, or expression of interest in a program or service process *
  • A suggestion or idea submitted by a customer with the aim of improving services, programs or processes *

*For these inquiries use the Report It feature.

The Township is committed to continuous improvement and open communication with the public in an approach where all feedback is dealt with fairly in a respectful, transparent manner, and as quickly as possible. We encourage citizens to submit a compliment or complaint regarding a municipal program, service, facility or staff member via the Township's Compliments and Complaints Intake Form.

Ombudsman Services

In accordance with the Township's Compliments and Complaint Policy, anyone wishing to make a complaint against the Township must first seek resolution through the Township's internal complaint process prior to submitting a complaint with the Ombudsman. If you have tried to resolve the complaint with the Township and are still not satisfied you may contact the Ontario Ombudsman. The Ombudsman provides services to residents to ensure that they have a local and efficient appeal process in case a complaint is not resolved directly with the Township.
