Welcome to the Township of Woolwich Clean Tech Tour & Directory. Thank you to Sandra Bray, Artist and Community Volunteer, for having the vision to create and do the research for this project.

About the Clean Tech Tour & Directory

Woolwich Township is proud of the local companies and industries offering services and products that harness renewable materials and energy sources, dramatically reduce the use of natural resources, and/or cut or eliminate emissions and wastes.

The goals of the Woolwich Clean Tech Tour & Business Directory are:

  1. to provide interested parties with an overview of this one sector in the Township
  2. to provide the means to visit businesses that are leading the clean technology evolution
  3. to explore establishing mutually-beneficial synergies

The listings below can be used in two ways. You may want to create a Tour Day with appointments at one facility, or you may want to use the listings as a directory to find specific products or services.

Enviro-Stewards Inc.

Clean Technology Products & Services: We conduct water, air, GHG, soil, energy, wastewater audits. We are an environmental firm that helps our clients increase their sales margins while reducing environmental footprints and improving social conditions.
Successes & Completed Projects:  We worked with a 40-person facility in Oakville, ON (Fruition) to help them reduce utility, ingredient, and waste costs by $490,000 per year, reduced GHG emissions and sewer effluent loadings by 30% and 90% respectively, and to provide 40 drinking water purification systems to homes in South Sudan. There are several other stories on our website.

Heizomat Woodchip Boilers

Clean Technology Products & Services: Heizomat Canada is the local supplier of German engineered and crafted Heizomat wood chip/biomass boiler systems and screened wood chippers.  These boilers offer the lowest fuel cost by efficiently burning wood chips, sawdust & shavings from leftover tree tops, branches, shipping pallets, construction waste and furniture offcuts, as well as a wide range of low-cost biomass fuels from miscanthus, straw, corn husks and cherry pits.

Heizomat boilers are fully automated with convenience and low maintenance that rivals fossil fuel boilers.  They are a highly efficient, low emission and when combined with sustainable fuel management, can provide a truly Zero Carbon Footprint heat source. 

The Heizomat wood chippers follow the same theme of being hard working, long lasting, safe, easy to use and low maintenance. They include screens to produce consistent, fuel-quality wood chips that meet the specifications required by most biomass boilers.  They are available in PTO, diesel engine, truck mounted and stationary electric models and can be either hand or crane fed.

Heizomat Canada is a family owned business located in Breslau, Ontario and we have been operating a Heizomat wood chip boiler and chipper on our family farm for over 2 years. We provide full technical and warranty support for all Heizomat products.
